The pianist

I have seen a lot of movies during all my life, tematic such as action, adventure, science fiction, comedy, terror, suspense, etc. 

I have many favorite movies, but today, I would like to talk about a movie that, despite it´s not my favorite, it´s a great film. It´s in the context of the Second World War. It´s named as The pianist. 

It was directed by Roman Polański in 2002, and the principal actor is Adrien Brody. He is a a Jewish-Polish pianist (Władysław Szpilman). He works in a radio station of Varsovia, and lives with his family. But in those years, it´s the arrival of the Second World War and the invasion of Germany, in september 1st of 1939 and soviética in september 17th of the same year. 

After the radio station, while he was playing the piano, it´s bombarded. He decides to go at home, where he recieve the new about the declaration of war to Germany by United Kingdom and France.

Two years later, the life conditions for the Jewishes in Poland have been quickly deteriorated, and their right are now very limited. 

To final of 1940, they are obliged to transfer to Ghetto of Varsovia, where they confront the hunger, pursuits and humiliations by the Nazi, besides fear of the deadth and tortures always present.

Władysław Szpilman shall to scape constanly of the danger, and these situations maintain me tense, for example, when he needs to be hidden of anyone who wants to kill him.

I like very much this film because it combines classical music (Frédéric Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach), the drama and the danger, and also because it represents an important event of our world history.

Really, I wouldn´t like to change anything of this movie, because I think that it´s excellent.

                                             

Photographs...

Well, I begin saying that I don´t have a favorite photograph, because I consider to myself lover of the art and creations in general (including the photographs, of course). 

I like very much to see photographs about family for to remember old times and moments that I was and shared with my family and friends. 

Also, I love to see photographs of landscapes, or to see them live, for example, when I go traveling. 

Always, when I´m traveling, I know new landscapes, and I beginning to imagine the life style of the people of that place. 

Because of this reason, I can´t to define one favorite picture, because the beauty, for me, hasn´t limits. 

However, anyway I would show you some photographs that they mean something for me. They are pictures that bring me nice memories.

I´ll begin to talk you about the first...                     

This is a photograph about Villarrica Volcan, city of the south of Chile. 

This picture was taken by my brother during the vacations of the last summer (2011).

To see this landscape I remember my childhood, because I was born here. Villarrica is a beautiful place; there are many forests, a small city, lakes and abundant vegetation.

The second photograph shows part of the Valparaíso Harbor. I found it looking for in Internet. I don´t know who and when it was taken. But I love it! It´s a beautiful place, very different to Santiago; the houses are in high, there are cable railways, the center has a bohemian life, you can to walk for the harbor and to visit other near places, as museums, beaches, restaurants, etc.

An important piece of new

The piece of new that I´ll comment in this ocassion it´s about the salary of 105 university careers. I read this new at May 16th, Wednesday, by chance in a link that a classmate published on her Facebook profile. The new belonged to the newspaper "Las últimas Noticias" of Chile.

It said that into the web page "www.mifuturo.cl" of the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) it´s possible to determine the average salary of the chilean professions during the first and fifth year of to leave the educational institution, and the level of demand for the labor market (employability).

Within the 105 careers with possibilities of to find safe job and good salary, the article mentioned to metallurgical civil engineering, geology, medicine and nursing. However, the carees with worst evaluation acording to the same criterion are theater and acting, history degree and pedagogy in history, primary education and infant education. 

 

 

 

The text explained that the 64% of the proffesions (moreover those previously mentioned) earn less of $1.000.000 to fifth year!

To have other curricular experiences as: a good command of english language, to haver been assistent of some subject, to work very well in group and to develop other social habilities, it helps to access to a better position in the job.  

Many students (of secundary or universitary education), in the moment that they read this new, they can feel affected.

I think that this kind of news, in relation with social and educational themes, I´d like to hear, read or watch on TV, because the people can to be more and better informed for to know about their future decisions, and this form they can to have a better life style.
